405th Aircrew Training Group (AZ)
The 405th Aircrew Training Group (405 ATRG) was activated on 1 Jan 2008 at Phoenix ANGB, 161 Air Refueling Wing of the AZ Air National Guard at Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix, Arizona. The unit is responsible for training, coordination and standardization of subordinate units in the state of Arizona.

Mission - The mission of the 405th ATRG is to train, coordinate, supervise, and maintain the high standards of Arizona's Air Force Explorer Units in accordance with the directives of Headquarters - Air Force Explorers, Division of the United States Military Explorers.

unit Orientation: 27 mar 2024 (For next AZ Class- 21 Sep 2024)
Join through Unit Orientations
Held throughout the year at all active Units, bring at least 1 parent or guardian and enjoy a 1-1 1/2 hour presentation on our Programs. You'll do a touchy/feel on our training materials, hear our presention regarding our Military courses, learn about a day in the AFX Program, meet our Senior Cadets, mingle with other Parents and prospective cadets.
- 1 Hour - 1 1/2 Hrs (Snacks & Refreshments)
- Most cadets start as Froshmen/Sophmores
- Ages 14-21, and interest in a Military Career or entrance to a Service Academy or ROTC
- Learn our training curriculums & materials
- Best to bring fellow friend(s) who are interested.
If Interested, Schedule an Interview
Board Interview are conducted 3-4 times a year and just prior to the Fall Class start-up.
- Interview with two Boards of Senior Cadets
- Normally held Saturdays or a weekday night.
- Parents can drop off & then pickup.
- About 1-2 hours maximum total time.
- You must be scheduled at the Orientation!
